Surreal Spring Break, March 12–16. Ages 6–12

Puppets and Picasso

Monday–Friday, March 12–16, 9:00am-4:00pm, $375.00

This Spring Break at SteppingStone Theatre, we're all puppets! Join our teaching artists as you create a play based on a painting by Picasso. Let this art inspire you to write your own play, while you create characters and puppets to tell your story. You will work with found object puppets, hand puppets, and even Bunraku inspired puppets.

 

Spring Class—Creative Dramatics: Age 3.5–5

While the farmer is sleeping the afternoon away, Duck and the other animals are planning a most unusual fishing trip.

Sneaking past Farmer Brown is going to be as easy as one, two, three!

Students explore numbers and letters through creative dramatics, inspired by the popular series by Doreen Cronin.

Sail off through the day and into the night and in and out of weeks to create your own adventures in the place where the Wild Things are.

Join our SteppingStone teaching artist to create your own story with Max and the Wild Things, inspired by the classic book by Maurice Sendak. On the last day of class, perform your creation for your family and friends.

Become the classic characters from this much loved board game by writing your own who-dunnit.

Make the rooms, weapons and people come to life then show it off to your family and friends with a final performance the last day of class.

Take your funny ideas and turn them into sketches and scenes on stage at SteppingStone Theatre. Join our teaching artist and a group of other students as you explore comedy, comedy improv and sketch comedy.

Put it all together and show it off for your family and friends the last day. Because..."The back of your head is ridiculous!"

Suddenly Seymour, Audrey and Mr. Mushnik are all on stage at SteppingStone Theatre.

Join them as you learn songs, dances and scenes from this classic musical, loved and performed at schools and theatres everywhere.

Don't forget Chiffon, Crystal and Ronette! Come help them steal the show, performing a montage of your work for family and friends on the last day of class.
