Work with our teaching artist to
Create-a-Play that is inspired by the class theme, but with characters, a plot, and maybe a song or two all written by you! Even make your own costumes and build your own scenery. Then, work as a group to put the whole show together!
You will perform your play on the SteppingStone Theatre Education Stage for family and friends on the last day of camp.
In our afternoon sessions, SteppingStone Theatre becomes a place to fire up your imagination and try new things.
We have a great line-up of afternoon classes! Actors need all kinds of skills and abilities. Here you can study dance and voice, make puppets or a toy theatre, discover a magician's secrets, and even learn some Rad Moves!

Who would have thought a class named Candyland would be so popular? Everyone, that's who! Kids had so much fun last Summer, we just had to do it again.
You write the story, travel through Candyland along the Rainbow Trail or through the Gumdrop Mountains, and share your play with your friends and family on the last day of class. But be warned, when it's SteppingStone kids writing a play, there's bound to be a ninja in there somewhere!
Actors Playground: Magic, Acting, Dance
Magic
Work with a professional Magician to learn how to perform amazing tricks with every day objects. Sure to wow you family and friends when you perform your magic tricks on the last day of class.
Acting
Explore the creative world of acting! Using a wide range of acting games and exercises, you will develop your self-confidence while learning to use your body, voice and imagination, the basic tools of an actor.
Dance
Learn theatre dance basics and more. Get moving in the afternoon with our SteppingStone Teaching Artist and a group of kids.

You decide where they're off to and what they're up to as you Create-A-Play with each other and our SteppingStone teaching artist.
On the last day show it all to your family and friends.
Actors Playground: Stage Combat, Makeup, Magic
Stage Combat
Learn the basics of safe stage combat and then use what you've learned to create your own scenes. Learn sword-fighting, mock brawls, falls, and more!
Theatre Makeup
Work with a professional SteppingStone Theatre teaching artist to learn the secrets of stage makeup including: dramatic makeup, special effects makeup, and… even learn how to make your own fake blood!
Magic
Work with a professional Magician to learn how to perform amazing tricks with every day objects. Sure to wow you family and friends when you perform your magic tricks on the last day of class.

So maybe you spend a little too much time playing Angry Birds, or maybe you've never played. Either way, you'll love this wacky class at SteppingStone Theatre.
Join us as you use your imagination to turn the birds, the slingshot, the pigs, and all the rest into a live action performance.
The last day invite your family and friends to watch the show.
Actors Playground: Voice, Movement, Toy Theatre
Voice
Work with a SteppingStone Teaching Artist to build one of your most important tools as an actor, your voice. Strengthen your voice through vocal exercises and singing.
Movement
Learn theatre movement basics and more. Get moving in the afternoon with our SteppingStone Teaching Artist and a group of kids.
Toy Theatre
Build your own tiny toy theatre, where little puppets or your favorite action figures can put on plays for your neighbors for the rest of the summer.

Once upon a time, on a magical night, a marionette is brought to life by the love of a lonely wood carver. Write your own version of this classic tale.
Then just like the boy, Pinocchio, watch your story come to life as you perform it for your family and friends the last day.

Learn about the many varieties of puppets and then create one of your very own.
Movement

Be the Lorax and speak for the trees as the Once-ler keeps making more and more thneeds. This time you write your own play inspired by the classic Dr. Seuss book.
And don't forget the Barbaloots in their Barbaloot suits! Invite your friends and family to see your production the last day of class.

Beat-Boxing
Work with a professional beat box/ rap expert to learn how to transform your voice into drums, trumpets, cymbals, and even violins. Then create your own unique composition as a class.
Rad Moves
You've got some rad moves, some truly rad moves. Learn The Monkey, the Pony and the Funkadilly with us this summer as we study the song and dance of Rad Moves.
Magic

Learn to talk like Harry Potter, Hagrid, Kermit the frog and more by learning the basics of speaking with an accent.
Stereo Hearts
If you don't know all the words now, you will when you leave this camp at SteppingStone Theatre. Work with our Teaching Artist as you become the Gym Class Heroes who inspire a new generation as you rap, sing and dance along.
