Create-A-Play--Ages 6-8
Price: $225, for any Morning or Afternoon session.
$375 for both Morning & Afternoon sessions
Spark your imagination and tell your own stories! In this camp, dream up out of this world characters to perform in your own play. Work as a group to put the whole show together. Make your own costumes and build your own scenery.
You will perform your play on the SteppingStone Theatre Zehring Education Stage for family and friends on the last day of camp. (Limit 30 students each session)
What you’ll learn:
• Teamwork & group creativity
• Story creation with a logical beginning, middle and end
• Basic acting and performing skills
Stay in the afternoon to sample different performing art forms that tie into the morning create-a-play session themes. Create masks, puppets, or musical instruments. Learn how to drum or dance. Become a magician or a circus star. Each session has a new theme. (Limit 15 students each session)
Sign up for just the morning Create-a-Play or just the afternoon Sampler Session or sign up for both, and SteppingStone Theatre will provide supervision for the lunch break in between.
After Care
Can’t get to camp right at 4:00 to pick up your student? SteppingStone Theatre is now providing after-care from 4:00-5:00pm. Buy a punch card for $35 good toward any five after-care sessions throughout the summer. Parents must let us know at least a day in advance when you will be using the after-care service.

What a Mystery!
Create-A-Play: 9am-12noon
Sampler Session: 1:00-4:00pm
Calling all detectives! Put on your sleuth’s hat and get out your magnifying glass, there’s a mystery to solve!
Join the detective greats like Encyclopedia Brown and Cam Jansen as you create your own mystery.
AFTERNOON: Mystery after mystery unfolds in these afternoon sessions. Become masters of character and disguise.
Learn the secrets behind your favorite magic tricks. Head to the science lab as you create your own encoded messages and decoders.
Stinky Cheese Man
Create-A-Play: 9am-12noon
Sampler Session: 1:00-4:00pm
The sky is falling! Inspired by Chicken Little, Little Red Running Shorts and other characters from Jon Scieszka’s award winning book The Stinky Cheese Man.
Back on the SteppingStone Theatre mainstage this summer and now come create your own upside down tales in this summer camp class.
AFTERNOON: Discover the crazy world of the Stinky Cheese Man in these zany afternoon classes.
Create a fantastical mixed up puppet.
Make your own book for your own retelling of a famous fairy tale, and learn the basics of improv as you riddle and giggle your way through wacky tales.
Once Upon a Kingdom

A perennial favorite! Kings and Queens, wizards and riddles!
Use your imagination to invent a kingdom in a land far, far away.
Don’t let the adventure unfold without you!
AFTERNOON: Go back in time to an era when knights and princesses ruled the land through these afternoon sessions.
Learn to entertain like a court jester through clowning, juggling and joke telling.
Make your Masquerade Masks in preparation for the ball, and learn the dances of dukes and duchesses.
Treasure Island
Create-A-Play: 9am-12noon
Sampler Session: 1:00-4:00pm—WAIT LIST ONLY
ARRRR Mateys! Set sail for a voyage you won’t forget.
Go hunting for hidden treasures. Grab your map and compass.
Pirates and landlubbers alike will come to see if treasure maps lead to fabulous riches! Is there a secret code or a riddle to solve?
All hands on deck and sail into the adventure.
AFTERNOON: Explore Treasure Island and the other Islands of the Caribbean in these afternoon classes.
Find your rhythm through Caribbean drumming and dance, and create your own Caribbean mask to take home on the last day.
