This course covers all things Improv & Sketch Comedy! Improv lessons will focus on foundations, terminology, technique, and short-form games. Use Improv to inspire Sketch Comedy scenes. Walk through the process of brainstorming, writing, rehearsing, and revising your sketch scripts. Perform in an Improv & Sketch variety show on the final day of class.
>Final performance will be held on Friday at 3:30pm.
> Included in this program will be one hour of supervised lunch and recess in addition to a morning & afternoon snack break. Please pack a lunch, water bottle, and two snacks.

Teen workshops focus on refining theatre skills in acting, vocal technique, movement, stagecraft, and production while cultivating rich, collaborative experiences as an ensemble. Teens work together on devised or scripted material, relevant to their lives, while identifying universal themes or common social issues. In a positive and supportive process, teens reflect critically on their work to offer/receive constructive peer feedback on their artistic growth while learning about the larger context of Art in their lives.
THEATRE LEARNING IN GRADES 7-12 LOOKS LIKE:
Sharing leadership responsibilities throughout the program’s process
Using research, critical analysis, background knowledge, and cultural context to develop character relationships, enhance physical and vocal choices, and inform the believability and relevance of work
Practice various performing arts techniques to refine theatrical skill-sets
