Join us for a brand new weekly program for the youngest theatre-makers under 5!
Designed as your child’s first theatre arts experience, young children explore, observe, question, and collaborate during child led and teacher guided learning opportunities. Interactive sessions for caregivers and children feature songs, stories, art-making and lots of hands-on sensory play inspired by a beloved picture book. Session begins with 30 minutes of circle time & guided creative play activities while remainder of class is a less-structured, hands-on sensory play and art-making investigation. Children will build confidence, communication, and social skills as they explore ideas through their senses and creative play!
Class sessions are designed and led by SST’s Creative Learning Director, Megan Flod Johnson who specializes in innovative arts programs for the very young and has been commissioned by children’s museums all over the country. Check out her work at meganflod.org. Megan is eager to share creative arts programs for early years at SteppingStone Theatre.
Spring Session is inspired by stories with an interactive art component. We’ll explore visual picture books inspired by the interactive story and art-making processes of author, Herve Tulle.
