SteppingStone Theatre: A Great Resource for Schools
There are a number of ways to have a SteppingStone Theatre experience with your students! You can bring your class to our beautiful new theatre for a Mainstage show, you can bring a SteppingStone Theatre artist-educator to your classroom to give your students a chance to learn in a whole new way, or if you have an after-school program, we've got great programs for you too!.
Bring Your Class To A Show!
SteppingStone Theatre produces six shows each year that truly reflect the culture of St. Paul and the region. We work with local playwrights and composers to develop and write most of its plays, and premiere 3–4 shows each season.
The performers you’ll see on our stage are children and youth aged 9–18 who have been working in a professional setting with some of the Twin Cities’ top theatre artists for six or more weeks.
They are chosen through an open audition process, and no previous experience is required. Please contact us if you’d like information about how your students can become involved.
Each play this season is chosen for its educational and entertainment value. We think your class will find much to love about each and every one. We compile Teacher Resource Guides for each production except The Best Christmas Pageant Ever and our summer fairy tales shows.
Most importantly, our shows are affordable for ALL groups. Our group ticket price is $7 for groups of 20 or more. If you have a home-school group with fewer than 20, we're happy to extend the group rate to you as well. If $7 a ticket is too much for your school or class, please contact us for a Scholarship Form. We're happy to work with you to find a price that will fit your budget. We will NEVER turn away a group because of price.
