Summer Camps
At SteppingStone Theatre School for Young Actors our classes spark creativity. Our young actors tap into their potential in their own unique ways—building self esteem, confidence, and acting skills, while having tons of fun. Each class is an adventure. The journey is as exciting as the destination. The process of creation is as important as the final show.

Student actors learn about every aspect of theatre: setting, character, plot, problem, and solution. They apply that knowledge to creating a play from the ground up. Instead of being assigned a part in an already formed script, our actors work together to create their own show to perform on stage.

This summer SteppingStone Theatre’s summer campwill be held in two great locations, in our new theatre and down the block with our community collaborators at Unity Unitarian Church.

CAMP CALDECOTT © (ages 3 1/2 to 5 )
Imagination, socialization, and creativity soar in Camp Caldecott! Creative dramatics, music, and art bring a Caldecott Award-winning tale from around the globe to life. Take two, three, or four sessions because each session has a special theme! Click Here for Details

CREATE-A-PLAY © (Ages 6-8)
Spark your imagination and tell your own stories! In this camp, dream up out of this world characters to perform in your own play! Work as a group to put the whole show together. Make your own costumes and design and build your own scenery. You will perform your play on the SteppingStone Theatre Education Stage for family and friends on the last day of camp.

STEP ON STAGE © (Ages 9-12)
In this camp you’ll still create your own play from your imagination, but now we add music to your words! You’ll work with a director who will help you put the show together. A music director will help you make the songs. And an acting coach will teach you the ins and outs of character development and improvisation. Click Here for Details

JUST FOR TEENS (Ages 13-16)
Plunge into three fantastic aspects of theatre this summer! Each will challenge and inspire you! Learn to untangle the tongue twisters of Elizabethan English, razzle dazzle ‘em with your musical theatre skills and bust your buttons with zany comedic characters. Click Here for Details

CAMP WABASHA © (Ages 6-12)
A collaboration between SteppingStone Theatre, ArtStart and the Science Museum. Theatre, art and science come together in a special one-week camp at the Science Museum of Minnesota. Click Here for Details
