March 19th to April 30th, 2022

Vehicles make a city strong! Buses, helicopters, tractors, trailers, excavators, and recycling trucks all support our city and connect our neighborhoods. Young artists will celebrate community and all the big, loud, powerful vehicles that support it as they explore stories, movement, and art-making through a sensory-engaged play experience. Together, they will read books about vehicles, create movement-based adventure stories, and explore a set of construction materials like cardboard, tape, and paint. The group will create a showcase of favorite activities, creative drama, and art-making projects to share with you on the final day of class.

What adventures can be found by following a length of yarn as it winds its way through the classroom? Your young artist will explore stories, movement, and art-making through a tactile & sensory-engaged play experience. Together, they will read books about art, create movement-based adventure stories, and explore a set of messy (but washable) art project materials. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement

At SteppingStone, we are committed to access and inclusion for all people. Our programs stand firmly in opposition to racism and we challenge our young artists, staff, and Board of Directors to foster inclusion and to seek equity for all, including Black, Indigenous, people of color, LGBTQAI+, economically disadvantaged, all religions, veterans, active military, and those with accessibility needs. We work with families to meet students’ needs be it social, academic, developmental, or physical. SteppingStone respects students’ gender expression and provides access to gender-neutral facilities.

We Believe

Young people are artists, makers, and doers. They need to belong and to contribute to their world. When young people make art together, they change themselves and the world around them for the better.

We Do

SteppingStone ignites belonging, generosity, mastery, self-advocacy, and inspiration by creating art with young people to share with the world.
