You’re invited to the most colorful party in town! Let’s celebrate art & making with hands-on process art that goes WAY beyond finger paints!

Here’s what you can expect:

You get a class kit filled with all kinds of materials and tools for creating wonderful art AND sensory play props, like a rainbow scarf and animal figurine.
The whole class meets in a Virtual Studio every week to make creative and playful artworks like sculptures, graffiti murals, and Earth Art installations.
Your young artist learns to create using a variety of mixed media materials so they can identify patterns, shapes, lines, and colors in their work and the world around them.
Together, you will explore neverending process art projects & creative play prompts that will have you using your imagination in new ways!

TEACHING ARTIST

Megan Flød Johnson, Interim Education Director

Megan is an interdisciplinary theatre artist and educator who seeks to disrupt dominant narratives and expectations around arts experiences for youth and families to designate space for process, experimental thinking, play, and multiple points of view. She exhibits her work and consults with arts organizations that honor young people as artists and makers around the country including the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh and the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts. Megan is an inaugural 2019-’20 Jerome Hill Artist Fellow in performance awarded by the Jerome Foundation.
