August 16 - August 20, 2021

9:00am - 12:00pm

f all of the world’s smart devices—from phones to voice-activated lights—joined forces, what would they do? Would they save animals? Take over the world? Train us to be better at recycling? You and your class of tech-aficionados get to decide as you explore the fringes of our love & reliance on digital technology. You will learn to collaborate as you create an original play, interact with your fellow real-humans through theatre games, and use materials from around the home to create handmade counter-tech props that will thwart the bots. Together you’ll record your original work to share with your family on the final day of class.

THIS CAMP IS PAY AS YOU'RE ABLE

Our full registration fee represents the amount that it costs us to bring this program to you. But during this trying financial and emotional time for families, SteppingStoneprograms are Pay As You’re Able.

That means exactly what it says -pay what your family can afford. That may mean covering your fees and someone else’s. It also may mean paying half or some of the fee. If these options do not work for your family financially, we still want for your young artist to be able to attend. Email education@steppingstonetheatre.org and we will work with you to make attendance possible.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement

At SteppingStone, we are committed to access and inclusion for all people. Our programs stand firmly in opposition to racism and we challenge our young artists, staff, and Board of Directors to foster inclusion and to seek equity for all, including Black, Indigenous, people of color, LGBTQAI+, economically disadvantaged, all religions, veterans, active military, and those with accessibility needs. We work with families to meet students’ needs be it social, academic, developmental, or physical. SteppingStone respects students’ gender expression and provides access to gender-neutral facilities.

We Believe

Young people are artists, makers, and doers. They need to belong and to contribute to their world. When young people make art together, they change themselves and the world around them for the better.

We Do

SteppingStone ignites belonging, generosity, mastery, self-advocacy, and inspiration by creating art with young people to share with the world.
