Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr Postponed to August

Updated 5:43 06/12/2020

Disney's The Little Mermaid Jr.

As Ursula says,

Life is full of tough choices, isn't it? - Disney's the Little Mermaid Jr.

We have been holding out hope and our student actors are in rehearsal, but with the current state of COVID-19 cases, we must postpone the public performances until August for the safety of actors, staff, and the community. In August, you can expect either a socially distanced outdoor performance or a virtual performance. We know that this may be disappointing to children and families, but our young actors are so excited to be creating a marvelous performance to share with you.

If you are a ticketholder for this show and you would like us to help break the news to your young people, we’re here for you. Send us their names and one of the show’s characters will send a personalized video to let them know how excited Ariel, Sebastian, and even Ursula are to be, “Part of your world.”

SteppingStone Theatre for Youth Development exists to amplify youth voices and use creative processes to make sense of their lives and experiences. We are so grateful and will do everything that we can to make this a positive experience for your families. As you consider your choices of what to do with your tickets, you may:

•  Donate your tickets.

•  Hold the value of your tickets on your account for future use.

•  Receive a refund.

As a nonprofit youth arts organization, SteppingStone relies on the support of donors, class attendees, and ticket buyers to realize our mission. If you can exchange or donate your tickets rather than request a refund, it will help sustain SteppingStone Theatre through this uncertain time. Please contact Morgan Gray, Box Office Coordinator, at boxoffice@steppingstonetheatre.org with your preferred ticketing option. Any ticketholder who does not contact the box office by 6/22/2020 will be automatically issued a refund.

We will let you know as soon as we have a concrete plan in place for our August performances of Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr. via email, social media, and on our website. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through this process. We’re looking forward to being “under the sea” with you in August!

Stay strong, brave, and safe,
The SteppingStone Team

We stand firmly in opposition to racism, and our programs challenge our young artists, staff, and Board of Directors to foster inclusion and seek equity for all, including Black people, Indigenous peoples, people of color, LGBTQIA+ people, people of all economic backgrounds, people of all religions, and people with disabilities. SteppingStone collaborates with families to meet students’ needs, whether they are social, academic, developmental, or physical.

We Believe

Young people are artists, makers, and doers. They need to belong and to contribute to their world. When young people make art together, they change themselves and the world around them for the better.

We Do

SteppingStone ignites belonging, generosity, mastery, self-advocacy, and inspiration by creating art with young people to share with the world.
