Creatures at the End of the World

a devised work for middle school artists

Everyone’s concerned about the polar bears and penguins, but when climate change starts transforming the earth, what happens to the sprites? The hobgoblins? Vampires? Werewolves? Are they as endangered as we are? Will we unite with these hitherto elusive creatures to save the planet? Or is this the very thing they’ve been hoping for? The choice is yours!

ABOUT THE CLASS

You and your creative cohort will devise an original play about mythical creatures at the dawn of climate change and perform it on Zoom. Together, you will research and explore source materials on climate change, craft fictitious characters, and learn collaborative devising exercises to create a unique digital performance. We will create a powerful message about how we move forward, socially, and environmentally, together.

Bring all the imagination you’ve got. And snacks! Hobgoblins looooove snacks!
