THEATRE LEARNING IN PRESCHOOL AND KINDERGARTEN LOOKS LIKE:
Using the body & voice to express ideas
Guided group drama experiences
Exploring stories with creative drama strategies like pantomime, narration, and frozen image
Page-to-Stage is all about using favorite picture books as a catalyst for your young artist to explore the theatre-making process, work together with friends, share their ideas with the group, and physicalize character emotions. On the final day of class, you’re invited to join us for a Class Sharing of creative drama exercises, book scenes, favorite songs, creative movement, and artwork made throughout class.
Inspired by your child’s favorite books, young artists work together in a process-oriented environment, to explore theatre foundations like physicalizing characters, story sequencing, and theatre vocabulary. The books we’ll explore celebrate young creators & innovators. Each story will challenge us to use our imaginations in new and exciting ways.
WEDNESDAY MORNINGS, October 2-November 20
Children, 5 & under, and their caregivers join in 30 minutes of guided stories, songs, and introductory creative drama, while the remainder of class is spent independently exploring hands-on creative play, art-making and sensory stations.
