Spend the spring making friends and creating theatre in our Virtual Studios! Students work together to deepen theatre learning and create a body of work to present as a recorded performance on the final day of class. Most classes include a Kit of open-ended art materials to deepen engagement.

💻 Grades 7-12: Documentary Theatre Project

Do you want to stand at the intersection of social impact & theatre to discover unheard perspectives around a common story? Join us for a deep dive into Documentary Theatre, a performance development process that is a powerful catalyst for conversation, examination, and social action. You and your cohort of teen artists will select a topic or issue so that you can identify subjects to interview or research and devise a script based on your findings. Together, your cohort will present our collaborative theatre piece to be recorded and edited to share with friends and family.

Looking for an opportunity to create art and play in a structured environment with other families? You’re invited to the most colorful party in town! Join us for a celebration of art & making with hands-on process art inspired by picture books about creativity and playful artworks like sculptures, graffiti murals, and Earth Art installations. This class includes a kit filled with materials and tools for 6 weeks of process art projects as well as sensory play props like a rainbow scarf and an animal figurine.

How do you take the fantastical stories in your brain and turn them into short plays? Find out as you embark on a creative writing + play making expedition. You will learn how to develop & structure story ideas, create dynamic characters & develop action to become a stronger writer. Then together, you will workshop, revise, and combine your stories to present a collaborative staged reading to be shared with family and friends! This class comes with a kit that contains a notebook, pencil, and writing materials to help you brainstorm and storymap your ideas.

💻 Pre-K & K: Dinosaurs RAWR

Calling all dinos: are you hankering for space to tromp and roar? Young artists will use their imaginations to lumber through Jurassic swamps and soar through the sky with pterodactyl wings while learning theatre foundations like physicalizing characters, story sequencing, singing, moving, and using everyday materials to create dino-inspired art. At the end of the session, they will present a sharing of favorite activities for family and friends. This class includes a kit of open-ended props and a set of art materials for all of our dino-doings.

Is your imagination filled with Unicorns, Dragons, Trolls and a plethora of your own invented mythical beings?  Then its time to transform yourself into a mythical creature to embark on a journey to a magical land. Learn to work collaboratively to develop an enchanted play full of creative plot twists and mystical characters. Share your play with family and friends on the final day of class. This class includes a kit of open-ended materials to create props or costume pieces.

💻 Grades 7-12: Voiceover Acting Workshop

What do a Target Ad, Rick and Morty, and Audiobooks have in common? They’re all done by voiceover actors, which is a massive part of many actors’ careers! You’ll learn how to voice different performances, from a nature documentary to a cartoon (lots of shows use one actor for many characters). Together, your class will create a video of your favorite voiceover characters that you can share with your family.
