SteppingStone Theatre for Youth (SST) respects your privacy. This privacy statement discloses the privacy practices for steppingstonetheatre.org. The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to make you aware of how SteppingStone Theatre for Youth collects, manages, protects, uses, and/or shares information and what choices are available to you regarding the collection, use, and distribution of your personal information. This policy does not apply to the practices of companies that SteppingStone Theatre for Youth does not own or control, or to people that SST does not employ or manage. This privacy policy will notify you of:

What is “Personal Information”? How is it collected and used?

“Personal Information” describes information that can be associated with a specific user and used to identify that person, such as your name, email address, birthday, gender, location information, payment information, etc. Personal Information may be submitted by you in your interaction with the SST website. Other information, that is not personally identifiable, may be collected automatically by visiting and/or using our website through cookies.

SST is the sole owner of the information collected on this site.  We will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement.  SST collects information from our users at several different points on our site.

What information does SteppingStone Theatre for Youth Collect?

We may collect certain information about your interactions with us and information related to you and your use of our website, including but not limited to, Personal Information, your online activity, social media connections, as well as Internet Protocol addresses, device types, unique device data, such as device identifiers, and operating systems.

Personal Information remains anonymous unless you explicitly identify yourself or otherwise consenting to the sharing of information with us. Please be aware that some of our services cannot be offered unless you identify yourself to us.

Registration for Email Communications

You may join the SST email list by filling out this form or by contacting info@steppingstonetheatre.org.  During online class registration and ticket purchases, you are required to give your contact information (such as name and email address).  This information is used to contact you about the services on our site for which you have expressed interest.

Ticket Ordering, Class Registration, and Online Donations

We request additional information from you on our order/donation forms.  Here you must provide contact information (such as phone, email, and billing address) and financial information (such as credit card number, expiration date).  This information is used for billing purposes and to fill your request.  If we have difficulty processing a request, contact information is used to get in touch with you.

Class families are required to give additional information for a child which will be registered for a given class, camp, or production. Information that is gathered might include the child’s name, gender, age, school grade, and shirt size. This information is used for class credential verification and placement. Should you wish to provide this information in an alternate method, this may be done by contacting our Creative Learning Team at education@steppingstonetheatre.org.

Information provided about children under 18 will not be sold, shared, or rented to others in any way.

Log Files

We use IP [Internet Provider] addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track user’s movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use.  IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.

Payment and Billing Information

We use a credit card processing company to bill users for donations, class registrations, and ticket purchases. This company does not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes.

Does SST use “Cookies” to collect information?

Yes, when you view our website, we may store some data on your computer in the form of a “cookie” to automatically recognize your device the next time you visit. Cookies allow us to improve your browsing experience in many ways.

Some examples of how we use cookies include:

  • Keeping track of cart items;
  • Storing your password when browsing related websites during a single session;
  • Detecting your web-browser language; and
  • Detecting your IP address; and

SteppingStone Theatre for Youth may also use cookies on our website that are supplied by third parties providing services for SST. Most web browsers are set to accept cookies by default. We do, at times, share our list of patrons with other arts organizations, museums and zoos/aquariums for postal mailings only. If you wish to opt-out from information sharing, please email info@steppingstonetheatre.org. If you choose to opt-out of postal list trading, your information will not leave SteppingStone Theatre for Youth. We do not share phone or email information with any other organization. We do not share information about minors with any other organization.

Third-Party Cookies

SteppingStone Theatre for Youth uses third-party cookies. We and our advertising partners, including advertising networks, use information gathered through cookies and other similar technologies, as well as other information we or they may have, to help tailor the ads you see on our sites and to help make decisions about the ads you see on other sites. How does SteppingStone Theatre for Youth protect your personal information?

This website takes every precaution to protect our patrons’ information. When patrons submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and off-line.

Correction/Updating Personal Information:

If your personally identifiable information changes (such as your zip code), or if you no longer desire to be in our active solicitation, we will endeavor to provide a way to correct, update or remove your personal data provided to us. To change any of your personal information, please contact SteppingStone Theatre for Youth’s Ticket Office directly or boxoffice@steppingstonetheatre.org.

Choice/Opt-out

You have the option of receiving communications tailored to your interests.  You may opt-out of the following categories of communication:

  1. Classes and Camps
  2. Event Invitations and Reminders
  3. Support SST
  4. Information about volunteering and/or donating
  5. Show info and discounts
  6. Ticket reminders and post-show follow-up emails

You may opt-out of a category of communication or from all communication by contacting info@steppingstonetheatre.org or by clicking the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any email sent by SteppingStone Theatre for Youth.

If you opt-out of a category of communication we will no longer send you any emails pertaining to that category of information.  Occasionally, we will send informational emails that do not fit into any of the above categories.  If you feel you have received an email that should have been suppressed according to your preferences, please contact info@steppingstonetheatre.org so we may correctly categorize emails moving forward.

Notification of Changes

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on our website and will send an email announcing the update so you will be aware of these changes.
